죽음의 책에 의해 하늘로 끌려들어간 애쉬는 13세기의 어느 영지에 떨어지게 되고, 그곳 성주인 아더에게 포로로 잡힌다. 성주에게 적으로 오해받고 죽음의 구덩이에 떨어지지만 구덩이 속의 괴물을 해치운 애쉬는 자신이 살던 현대로 돌아가기 위해 죽음의 책이 필요하다는걸 듣고 책을 찾아 나선다.
